2ND ANNUAL

Well the 2010 TBNHC has officially kicked off.  Thanks to all for coming out to the opener.  We have extended the registration to saturday February 13th at 12 pm due to some upcoming media coverage of the contest.  Every one be sure to check out channel 8 news out of Fort Worth Wednesday night for the Texas Big Nasty Hog Contest spot.  The contest hadn't even been on its way for a few hours and already we started to get calls.  So lets get the rumors started.
 
Feb 6th - Team Duck or Bleed????? Big sow, big belly, she couldn't duck low enough.

Feb 6th The Disease Control Center has called reporting an out break of the Swine Flu.  Team Swine Flu stresses the need for bio-suits to be worn as they start covering Texas with their blanket of death.  4 shots, 4 hogs all died from the Flu.  These boys just ain't out for numbers.....they got some wait on the board.
 
Feb 6th The Hog S.W.A.T. Team knows the need for tactical force as they bring down one that has been on hold until the contest began.  And it is a hog to weigh.  Now is the video good?? Hope it is, you don't want to loose this weight.
 
Feb 6th Team Bush Hog mows their first victim down.
 
Feb 6th Team Quick Draw is quick to kill in the TBNHC.  They have an itchy trigger finger noted as they were one of the first to draw blood.
 
Feb 6th Sulphur River Bottom Girls....Have ya'll found that pork yet.
 
Feb 7th Girls you might want to check this team out.  I hear their name is The Bacon Bandits.  And they're stealing the hopes of other teams winning in a greasy sort of way.  1 hog down.
 
Feb 7th Just got a call from one of the team members of Shokha Owwatta... Man thought he was out of the contest due to his bow blowing up.  I told him he needed a longer fuse on his explosive tips.  He is down to his backup because of an unavoidable dry fire.
 
Feb 7th Team Caleb Wyatt is a youth that knows when the contest began.  He is already on the board as they find one in the middle of the day.
 

Feb 10th - Well we got one team from the Horn Stars showing up to compete.  Horn Stars Team 3 get their first taste of blood in the TBNHC. 1 Sow weighed and recorded.
 
Feb 10th - Didn't waste any time weighing their first one...they said they got bigger ones worthy to hang on a scale.  Team JCL Outdoors turns one in on tally.
 
Feb 10th - Team Hog Dawgs find their first "good eat'n size" boar.
 
Feb 11th - Dang...Team Shokha Owwatta reports good news then bad news....The good news is.... as they hunt separatly they were able to bring down a big jelly bean sow.  On the other hand we ain't going to be able to pass video that films the inside of the blind.  keep after 'em.  It'll come together.
 
Feb 11th - When they hunt....they bring meat home.  Team Bassett strike early this year with 3 hogs from the bottoms of East Texas.
 
Feb 11th - Make 'em Squeel Hoggy Style.  I like what they tell me.  I want to hear about some monster boars with long tusk.  Hunt 'n 'em at night they got 2 on the board.
 
Feb 11th - Youth Team Calab Wyatt ....smoke 'n em.  I want him on my team next year.  I seen pictures.....hogs laying all up on the 4 wheeler....Good job Calab.  Keep a shoot n.
 
Feb 11th - Youth Team Powder Burn blows down a big slab of bacon..daddy forgot to push the red button....Mean while son has put ad in paper looking for new camera man.
 
Feb 12th - The girls are back.  the Sulphur River Bottom Girls shoot em as they come.  Will the big boar come in....can't wait to see.
 
Feb 12th - The Swine Flu's death toll start to decline as they look for more arrows than hogs.
 
Feb 13th - Sulphur River Bottom Boys can't let the girls out do 'em weighing in a hefty brute.  Come on guys it is valentines week end...could have at least let the girls have that one.
 
Feb 13th - H1N1 has taken out more hogs.  Team Swine Flu calls in 3 more hogs all go to their number tally.
 
Feb 13th - No time is wasted as Team Tallent brings their first one in to weigh.  Hog still weighed heavy even with out the guts.  Keep em in next time...get the full weight.
 
Feb 13 th - Youth Team Powder Burn still trying to make a video come together.  Hog gets away.....on film this time.
 
Feb 14 th - Team Swine Flu...Note to self, stay after the big ones.  Long shots taken on "number" pigs usually mean expensive hunting trips with a lower success rate.
 
Feb 15th - Team Duck or Bleed brings in 2 more to add to their numbers.
 
Feb 15th - Team Waterboys refuse to zero out...starting early this year they get their first at night.

Late registration is over.....teams are counted up and we have 49 adult teams and 10 youth teams for the 2010 TBNHC.  Keep checking back with in the next week and we will have the prizes posted.
 
Feb. 15 - Team B.S. calls in to confirm hog down.  Self filmed hunt.
 
Feb.17 - Team Double Lung slips an arrow through the pump station of a big nasty.
 
Feb 18th - Spot and stalk...These boys travel with the hogs like the indians did with the buffalo.  Full days hunt...long nights work....full days hunt...long nights work..etc...etc.
 
Feb 18th - The virus has slowed down as the hogs must have started to build an immunity to the Swine Flu.  Team Swine Flu just brings in a small one tonight.  The virus is only taking out the weak ones of the group now.  H1N1 must mutate to stay in the game...where is this big blanket of death ya'll started out with.

Feb 19th - The channel 8 news TBNHC spot is suppose to show tonight if any one interested.

Feb 20th - Well we have about 60 teams entered in to the contest.  I kinda expected some more hogs to be registered by now.  I guess thats good in one aspect.  ...There will be enough hogs around to have another contest for next year.
 
Feb 19th - Team Swine Flu seem to maintain the boar to sow ratio as they call in 2 more each to add to their numbers.  They would also like to put the word out that they will personally donate their meat to Team Piglet Patrol seeing how their freezers will be bare of pork meat for next winter.
 
Feb 19th- Team JCL Outdoors still after a big and nasty hog but feel eradication of all hogs in Texas is important too.  Add one to their numbers.
 
Feb 20th - Team Swine Flu still at it night after night day after day.  One hog weighed in.
 
Feb 20th - Team Shokha Owwatta still fighting as they bring another to market.
 
Has anyone ever stayed over night at the Post Oak Hotel??? I know one team did.  It's kind of a nature get away.  Lots of night creatures provide for some awesome entertainment.  Be sure to pack warm clothes and might want to bring some pain medication for your back pending your choice of stand.  Team S.W.A.T.T. will provide the security.
 
Feb 20th - Setting in a tree at night waiting on that one big pig??? Well ask Team B.S. it is much more exciting to go ahead and get a few down for numbers while you wait.  One hog shot and weighed in.
 
Feb 22th - Team Make Em' Squeel Hoggy Style keep pursuing a few elusive boars but want pass up any that might show up.  Another weighed in.
 
Feb 23rd - Killer Instinct takes down their first of the contest.
 
Feb 23rd - Youth Team Powder Burn finally brings one into weigh.  They said it was all on film this time.
 
Feb 23rd - Youth Pickton Pork Producer lays one out finally after missing one he will never live down.....at 6 yards.
 
oh my gosh.  I can not believe this....Team Post Oak Savanah says the two pigs that they just shot will be enough to take the honors of the TBNHC.  One hunt two shots...they will choose not to hunt anymore....video is under dilliburation.
 
Feb 24th - This just in as I write...Team Bush Hog takes the legs out from under another boar.

The Sulphur River Bottom Boys 2nd place last year start to pull towards the top as they bring down the hog they had been playing chess with since the tournament started.
 
Tell the sows to keep the piglets close because the Piglet Patrol has been out and about.  Called in two to weigh.  They said they are just now getting warmed up.  You better catch fire quick.
 
The Boar Hog Rippers bring their first in to weigh.
 
The Soggy Bottom Boys have not given up as they pursue the hogs of Hopkins County.  Ambush from trees spot and staulk under the cover of darkness......they show no mercy....they take take em out any way they can being sure to conserve arrows though.  Shot 3 this week..one was a double.
 
Nope.....Team Waterboys....that will not put you competeing with the big nasties of this contest but at least you made the Rumor Board again.  Gotta find the big one.
 
Team S.W.A.T.T.  still after the big weighted boars.  They bring one in you definently wouldnt want to get in the way of.  I was told by Bo Allen that those are called DOG KILLERS...I am glad ya'll got him out of the woods.  Ya'll just saved a hog dogs life.
